How to add Liquid Cooling to your CPU easily and cheaply

E-mail Print PDF
Corsair has a nifty new product out for anyone looking to add liquid cooling to their processor. The Corsair H50 CPU Cooler also happens to be well under $100. Personally, I have been interested in adding this type of cooling system to my case but am slightly intimidated by the setups. This cooler is completely enclosed; no mess, no fuss. Just mount the processor sink and the fan/radiator. No separate lines to run or reservoirs to fill. This fits several sockets both AMD and Intel (775,1366,1156,AM2, and AM3).

AVG LinkScanner, another free security tool to help protect you

E-mail Print PDF

AVG has released another free tool that can help protect your PC from internet scum.  This is not a full security suite, but just a small browser add-in that checks out links you are about to click and lets you know if they are suspect.  Yes this type of tool is present in some full featured security suites.  However, if you already have security software installed that does not include this type of feature LinkScanner may be a worthwhile download (hey its free!).  The attached video is AVG's quick intro and explanation of the tool.  If you are looking for new full featured security software for your PC, you should check out AVG Anti-Virus.  They have a special right now: AVG Anti-Virus 9.0 - 2 years for the price of 1!

Useful World of Warcraft Add-ons

E-mail Print PDF

I have been playing World of Warcraft (WoW) since I recieved it as a gift for Christmas. It is definitely a well designed game with many intricacies.  However, as with any game there are things that could be improved.  This is where WoW Addons come into play.  Addons tweak or change the game's user interface (UI) to improve your gaming experience.  According to Blizzard's policy, UI addons are acceptable as long as they follow a few basic rules.  Below are a few of the addons I have found extremely useful and links to download them.  These addons are all available from the website.  Personally, I do not use the Curse client becuase I have read mixed reviews about it.  The Curse website also offers all the addons as a separate download  for manual install (you just unzip the folder and dump it in your AddOns directory (C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns if using Vista or Windows 7).

World of Warcraft 300x250
  1. Quest Helper - This addon is useful for anyone, as it basically provides on-screen GPS directions to completing your quests.  Saves time looking at the map and can help you optimize your time.
  2. Auctioneer - This addon is useful for anyone who posts items in the Auction House.  It helps you research selling prices and post items more efficiently.
  3. Postal - This addon is also useful for anyone.  It gives some nice address book like functionality to sending mail and also a helpful "open all items" button for taking all message attachments at once.
  4. Omen - This addon could be useful for many classes, but a mage especially.  It provides feedback on your threat level compared to other party members so you can avoid getting aggro from a big boss.
  5. Healbot - This addon is probably most useful to healers, but could assist other spellcasters as well.  It allows you to monitor and efficiently target your party or raid group for healing/buffs/curse removals.

Get quick, free feedback on your website design

E-mail Print PDF

I recently came across a great site called  The site has a basic free service where you can get some basic visitor feedback.  The free service includes feedback about where the user clicks and what they remember about your site.  There are also more detailed services available if you wish to register and buy credits.  If you are working on a new website design, I would definitely recommend spending a few minutes to get some user feedback.  I submitted a few of my sites to this service and was surprised by some of the feedback I received.  Check it out here.
